The best slippers for men should feel like they’ve been stolen from the nicest hotel said man has ever stayed in. They should feel like “slip into something more comfortable” materialized on those hard-working feet at the end of a long day. But we at Condé Nast Traveler do not condone theft. If you feel compelled to slip that terrycloth pair of mules left for you in the boudoir or bathroom as a hotel guest, that’s your business—don’t bring us into it. This terrycloth number from Oas—and if terry is your thing, you’d be wise to check out its robes by the way—is the closest this writer has seen an outlet come to direct emulation of the hotel slipper. Excepting the base, which is sturdier than the soft soles you’ll often find in a hotel, this is an inoffensive and casual cotton option to consider.
Bombas men's Sunday slipper
Bombas has quite a few solid slippers from which to choose—including the Gripper Slipper that really blurs the line between sock and shoe. But the Sunday Slipper, with its super-soft faux fur and slip-on, slip-off capability really puts it at the top of the heap in the realm of versatility.

To me, the reasons one should buy such slippers as these are as boundless as they are obvious. If I have to spell it out for you, let's start with the joyful imagery—a little bear, donning his fine Ralph Lauren plaid pants and little hat, keeps warm from the cold in much the same way these suede numbers will warm your toes. Although I'd never condone it outright, I would look the other way should I see a pair of these make their way out of the house and into the Polo Bar on a particularly brutal night.

This soft suede, tan slip-on is the epitome of vacation mode. With its leather upper and liner and a rubber outsole textured herringbone-style, this is a mule that you wouldn’t be ashamed to be caught leaving the house in. It matters not if you're in boxers and a robe a la Tony Soprano or a full groutfit (that's gray sweatshirt, gray sweatpants.)
